Flat Rod

Simax manufactures a line of flat borosilicate glass rods. These 1500mm long (59”) rods are available in width and height dimensions of 6mm x 3.2 mm to 38.1mm x 9.8. In Standard dimensions that is rod measuring ¼ inch wide by 1/8 inch tall to 1.5 inch wide by approximately 1/3 inch. Artist Jared DeLong has produced some stunning work utilizing this flat rod. Jared is represented by the L. H. Selman Gallery at TheGlassGallery.com and he uses both hot and cold techniques to realize his beautifully conceived and executed ceremonial knives.
